It was the last game of the season. The championship game! Everybody wanted to win, especially me! Just like always, Coach reminded the team about the importance of being good sports and playing fair. As usual, the team agreed ‘cause we all knew the game wouldn’t be any fun if we cheated. But when the game was tied at two with five minutes left to play and the crowd was standing up and cheering; everything started to change. We stopped having fun.
It’s okay to want to win and it’s okay to try your best to win too! But how you go about trying to win is what matters the most. Being a good sport is important for all of us; whether we’re playing the game or cheering in the stands; we all need to be good sports.
